SUMMER SCHOOLS

By attending a summer school, you will gain a true insight and understanding of what student life at university is like. While trying out university in an authentic and fun environment, you will also develop new skills that will undeniably help towards your future pursuit in higher education.

The Bristol Sutton Trust Summer School offers students in Years 12 and 13 an opportunity to experience student life in one of the UK's most exciting cities and Russell Group universities, Bristol. This aims to provide you with an insight into undergraduate courses at the University of Bristol.

The King's College London Pre-University Summer School is open to students aged 16 and 17. This programme will enable you to study a chosen subject at undergraduate level and will help you prepare for your future at university. This is a 2 week residential experience, where you will live in King's College London accomodation.

This 4 day residential Summer School is for year 10 students which aims to offer taster sessions of different science and engineering disciplines. This will give you a deeper insight into subjects such as Physics, Maths, Biology and Chemistry. You will take part in practicals and workshops in real undergraduate labs alongside some of Imperial's finest academics and students.

Enjoy an experience at Oxford University with over 40 subjects to choose from. A Summer Schools for all ages which gives you the chance to consolidate your learning or try something totally new.

This Summer School programme includes a wide variety of courses in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. Opening up new subjects and concepts, these Summer Schools are designed to provide an insight into what studying at university is like and what the University can offer to interested students.

This summer school programme consists of useful academic classes, informative guidance sessions  and social activities led by leading academics, admissions experts and current university students.


Eligibility: 

  • be in year 12 or equivalent e.g. S5 in Scotland (home UK only)

  • attend a state school or college

  • have achieved at least 5 A/A* (Grades 7-9) at GCSE, 5 A/B passes at National 5 or equivalent and be taking relevant subjects in relation to the subject stream they are applying for, if applicable.

This residential summer school is aimed for Year 12 state school students. This summer school offers a taste of studying a degree programme and an insight into university life.

Eligibility: 

  • For students aged 16+

  • Applicants must have achieved at least five A*-B/9-6 grades at GCSE; 

  • Applicants must be likely to achieve a minimum of ABB at A level or at least 34 points at IB (please note that for subject specific activity students must be on track to meet the degree programme's minimum entry requirements); 

  • Applicants must be taking at least two subjects from UCL's list of preferred A levels.

This exciting and inspirational summer school is for 16-18 year old students. You will gain an insight into Warwick with fellow peers at one of the UK's highest ranked universities. This includes spending nine nights on Warwick's campus as well as one night and two days in London. There is a choice of two courses taught by top Warwick faculty - Economics and Finance or a taste of social sciences.

LSE CHOICE gives talented young people from London state schools and colleges the tools they need to successfully apply to LSE and other highly selective universities. Each year, LSE CHOICE works with 180 students from under-represented backgrounds. Students apply for a place on one of five LSE CHOICE subject streams: 

Economics, Government and Politics, History, Mathematics, Sociology.


Eligibility: 

  • Students are required to have an excellent GCSE profile of mainly grades 5-9, and predicted A*-B grades for A-level.
